Who it serves
JoinLinks helps people meet in real life. Members create or join Links, real-world hangouts hosted by people nearby, from coffee meetups to weekend hikes, and build interest-based Communities with their own group chats, feed, event links, and private photo vault.
People who want to meet others in real life
New to Los Angeles, new to a scene, or simply looking for something to do this week. Links are real-world hangouts hosted by people nearby, from coffee meetups to weekend hikes.
Hosts and organizers
People who run nights, meetups, workshops and parties and want them found by the people who would actually turn up. Any Link can become a ticketed event.
Communities that want one place to gather
Interest-based groups that are spread across a chat app, a spreadsheet and a flyer, and want their chats, feed, events and photos in one place.
What is in it
Four things, in the app’s own terms.
Links
Create or join a Link: a real-world hangout hosted by someone nearby. The home feed lists them by date with the flyer, time and neighbourhood, and can be filtered by what is popular, what is saved, and what the app suggests for you.
Communities
Start or join an interest-based Community. Each one gets its own group chats, a dedicated feed, its own list of event Links, and a private photo vault. Owners approve members and can run more than one chat channel.
Hosting and ticketing
Turn any Link into a ticketed event: set prices, sell tickets inside the app, and check guests in at the door with a built-in scanner and a live dashboard. The Wallet tracks sales and payouts, set up through Stripe.
Ticketing and payouts require host verification.
The Live Feed, and offline
Share posts and photos on the Live Feed, reply in threads, @mention friends, and switch between accounts without logging out. Offline mode keeps your tickets and content available when the venue Wi-Fi does not cooperate.
Where it is, and what gets listed
JoinLinks is a Los Angeles app. Its event feed focuses on Black Los Angeles social and entertainment events, sourced from organizers and public listings and reviewed for fit before they are published.
Event categories
- Parties
- Shows
- Day events
- Pop-ups
How an event reaches the feed
The feed is curated, not automatic. A listing goes through the same three stages whether an organizer submitted it or the team found it.
Sourcing, review, and publishing — the same three stages for every listing.
- Sourced. Events arrive two ways: organizers submit their own Links and events, and the team adds events from public listings.
- Reviewed. Nothing is published automatically. Each event is read against the same rubric before it goes live: is it a real, dated Los Angeles event, and is it the kind of social or entertainment night this feed is for?
- Published. What passes is published to the same feed everywhere at once: the iOS and Android apps and the web client at joinlinks.com.
Inside the app

For organizers
If you run a night, a meetup, a workshop or a party in Los Angeles, there are two ways onto the feed. You can host it yourself: create the Link in the app, and turn it into a ticketed event when you want to sell tickets and check guests in at the door. Or you can send it to the JoinLinks team and have it listed for you.
Either way, mail support@joinlinks.co with:
- The event name, date, start and end time, and the neighbourhood or venue.
- A flyer or cover image, and the link people should use to buy or RSVP.
- Who is hosting, and whether it is a one-off or a recurring night.
- Whether you also want a Community for it, so the people who come back have somewhere to gather.
Submitting an event is not the same as publishing it: every listing is reviewed for fit first, as described above.
